People usually call us about Christmas lights. A year later, most of them tell us they use their lights more in the other eleven months. Here's a month-by-month look at how our customers around St. Joseph, Falls City and Hiawatha use theirs.
Winter
- January: Back to a clean warm white after the holidays, with nothing to take down. Chiefs playoff colors if the season is still going.
- February: Red and pink for Valentine's Day, and red and gold for any big February football.
- March: Green for St. Patrick's Day. Basketball season brings out the school colors.
Spring
- April: Soft pastels for Easter and spring.
- May: Apple Blossom season in St. Joseph, graduations and Memorial Day red, white and blue. Light the house in your grad's school colors for the party.
- June: Long evenings on the patio with warm white under the eaves.
Summer
- July: Red, white and blue for the Fourth, with a slow chase pattern if you want some motion.
- August: Back-to-school and the start of football. Chiefs training camp makes St. Joseph a red-and-gold town every summer.
- September: Every Saturday and Sunday has a team. Huskers, K-State, Mizzou and the Chiefs all fit on the same roofline, a click apart.
Fall
- October: Royals blue when the season goes long, then orange and purple for Halloween. Pink for breast cancer awareness month.
- November: Warm amber for Thanksgiving, and red, white and blue around Veterans Day.
- December: The big one. Classic warm white, red and green, or a slow twinkle. Turn it on Thanksgiving night and never touch a ladder.
The rest of the time
