Northwest Missouri weather can be tough. In a single year we see ice storms, heavy wet snow, straight-line winds and July days near 100 degrees. It's no surprise that "will it hold up?" is one of the first questions we hear. Here are straight answers.
Are the lights built for the outdoors?
Yes. Trimlight lights are sealed and made for outdoor use all year. They mount into an aluminum track fastened under the roofline, not clipped to a gutter, so they're protected from much of the direct snow and ice load that destroys temporary strands.
What about ice and snow on the roof?
Because the track sits under the drip edge or along the fascia, snow slides past it rather than piling onto it. There's no strand to rip loose and no clips to snap in the cold.
Does summer heat hurt them?
LEDs run cool compared with old incandescent bulbs, and the system is made to handle hot Midwest summers.
What if something does fail?
Covered parts carry Trimlight's lifetime product warranty. If a section ever needs repair, we fix that section. There's no need to redo the whole system. If you have an issue, call or text us. Warranty service calls are free.
What does it look like during the day?
The track is color-matched to your trim, so most people don't notice it until the lights turn on. That's why it works well in neighborhoods with an HOA. We're happy to provide photos and product details for your HOA or neighborhood board.
Where does the wiring go?
We hide it. Wires run inside the track and are routed through the soffit or attic wherever possible, so you won't see cords hanging down the side of your house.
